1973 Cuda European Exports
« on: May 19, 2006 - 03:10:16 PM »
Hi

I have a 1973 Cuda 340 Built and exported to special order and shipped to Tenerife with Seven others. Vin is
BS23H3B420177. Just wondered if anyone knew anymore about cars exported to Europe at his time. Obvious differences are the speedo in KMH etc but mine also seems to have slightly different badging etc.

Any experts out there have info - export figures , etc

Thanks

Mark

I thought the euro export were just sent in parts and then put together in Belgium.
There are sevral of Belgium Mopars here in Norway (atleast some Challengers). The problem with them is that the parts were sent unpainted and some times rusted before the were put on the cars. The rust was not removed just painted over. Well that's what I've been told.

I am wondering why my Chally was built for international export but never left the states.Maybe it was built for a military soldier that never made it home???

If the car was ordered from overseas, it was tagged as an export car. Most of them never left the states. So, say a Navy sailor was in port at Saigon and he went and ordered a new Challenger through Crysler's Military Sales Program. At the time of order, he could have picked a dealership in the US to have it delivered to so he could pick it up on his return. San Diego was a popular point of return, I have seen a few export cars now with N95 California emmisions. If you have a broadcast sheet the Y code for Military order should be there if it was a Military order.

Production numbers for Export cars are not known, if they exist I have not seen them yet.

T/Ake care,
Barry

The little Barracuda on the tail panel looks like it's off of a '67 to '69 Barracuda and someone added the "340" on the back of the stripe.
...and of course the painted hood scoops, looks pretty tastefull to me

Other then that the badges look right
