Looks like a shell to me. By the time you add the motor, trans, interior, paint, etc....you'll have spent 30k easily. If you can afford to buy one a little more complete, you'll be ahead of the game.

I agree and disagree. I agree that if you can find a more complete daily driver you would be ahead of the game. It is always a ton harder to find parts that you don't even know that are currently missing, in other words, it is always better to have a non-functioning beat up part than none at all.

I disagree that you will have to spend 30k easily, you can still do up a 72-74 on a budget and spend much less than that. Heck here is another idea, look in the parts section of this web site. There are tons of good parts for sale at good prices to our mopar buddies. Don't like dealing with online resources?
Check up on and into your local mopar clubs and car shows where you can meet some new friends. You will be amazed as to how many local people resources you might have sit'n in your back yard. Speaking of back yards, these Mopar buddies might have parts that have been sit'n around years and be willing to part with something to help out you complete your car. This is just refering to parts.

If you also know how to do body work and/or paint work you will also be ahead of the game. Save money on sending your car to the shop and learn something new and come closer to your ride. Look at PixieDuster on this site, she is trying to complete a duster project with the family and saving a ton of money in the process.

Heck get the power train and missing interior pieces from a local guy for $500-$1000 bucks used and then drive it in black or gray primer sealer! Makes the car look mean!

Bottom line, if you want a show car, sure by all means find the money to do it right. If you want a daily driver you don't have to get the top of the line anything, just get it working and you will find yourself not spending as much.

Just my 2  :2cents:

Hmm, without a V.I.N. or proper identification that would be pretty hard to decide what you should do with that deal.  As already stated, you may never get what you put into the car without the original documentation/V.I.N. and you have the added headache that the law enforcement agency may assume the car's stolen and open up a big case on it. (Though it's probably just a project where the dashpad has either been lost during tear-down or is just in storage.)  Other than the potential legal issues, the car looks relatively solid and is definitely worth restoring. :2thumbs:

Okay he is asking 6500. Again the car is pretty complete, just not all in the car itself (interior wise). It is titled and has the vin. Took the dash of his no air cuda and swaped the dash from the with air. Original vin plate and rivets are together. He said I can go over the car and verify. He seems a pretty stright up guy and showed me his cuda he was having built. Looked nice at the point it was at. The dash only has a single small crack. I know I didn't have pics of the underside but its all in tact and even has the wiring in place. Again minus the engine and tran.

It is good that he has the title and the vin tag to boot, I would however check the cowl and ask about the fender tag.

$6500 without power train (engine and trans), and interior?

That's too high for a '74

You see them on E-splay go for much less and usually have the original 318s in 'em

 :iagree:

That is a bit high for a 74 in that condition, looks like the car needs a complete overhauln'. If he had the original motor/trans and interior then it would be a consideration but he should still take much less. I have seen rolling bodies go for 1000-3000 without motor/trans depending on the body condition. No interior would be closer to the 1000.

If you are still willing to nab the barracuda haggle, haggle and haggle.

Eh, kinda sorta. i paid $7900 on ebay for this a year anda half ago. #s match, original lemon twist car. Just throwing the figure out there for reference on what that 74 is worth. IMO, the extra $1,500 i paid for my car, got me a LOT more car. .02

No just the engine and tran.

Well besides a running motor and trans, i guess the paint, nowhere near as much rust, a complete original interior, and it all put together running and driving isn't worth the $1,400  :clueless:

I was replying to JimCuda's question. I now it has a little rust and needs paint, but that gives me a little room for creativity.

Hay no worries on the minor rust, just look for the pain in the butt stuff (frame, roof, firewall repairs). I'm also thinking no power train and everything that goes with it. I'm currently working on a 73 that had just the upper part of the motor removed. Finding things like brackets to ac, power steering, and even the alternator brackets bolts, linkage, wires that were added or removed from wiring harnesses over its life. Stuff like that should be taken into consideration when looking at the car you are because it won't be fun tracking those issues down nor can you assume that everything else is in order. However because these things aren't easy at times, the car will be worth more to you in the end when you are finished.

I think everyone here wants you to get the B'cuda, however everyone also want you to be sure that you know what you are getting into and not shell out more than you should. Good luck! You have much to think over.

My car is a BH23NOB...It has the high po 383 in it with the high po rear end. The front end is sway bar is larger and the hood is a double fake scoop. The logo on the back is barracuda but it could easily be a Cuda. Maybe the air conditioning package makes it a high line car. i wish I had a build sheet for it but no luck.
