hydralic lifter

Maybe a silly question :dunno: but would it be safe to replace a hydralic lifter whitout ruin the bumpstick?
I`m having a ticking in one or to valves, so I`m thinking of to clean the lifters but I`m also thinking of to replace them at once, to be on the safe side, if the cleaning won`t do any good.
Appreciate all thoughts or ideas.

A used lifter on a used camshaft that were not broke in together is not good.  I have used new lifters on a used cam with no problem.  Make sure you use break-in lube and run the engine to break in the lifter properly.
