If you don't want to put in the hood pins, you can always fasten some type of limiting strap on the inside of the hood. It would be one extra thing to undue to pop your hood, but you can make it easy enough and it will not interfer with the looks of the car. I'd use some sheathed steel cable (like a dog run line) and a quick relaese type of latching mechanism (something like a caribeaner (sp.).
