Just in case anybody Races, this is a nice 540 we just did. Gonna try and do a "street version" for pump fuel later, but this was a "new build" for a customer using his "old Block" and Heads, with new bigger 540 rotating assembly.
Mopar mega Block
4.375 Bore
4.250 " stroke Ohio crank, 2.200 Cheb Pin
7.100" BME rods W/.990"
J.E. Forged Pistons
INDY 440-1 Heads 2.19/1.81 valves
Maxed out port Job, Installed port intruders but NO WELDING.
Hughes Flat-Tappet Solid Camshaft W/.685" lift
Tunnel ram 2 X 4 Ron's Toilets
Targeted as a real nice Bracket motor using a 2 spd "slip & slide" in a light car. Used the solid flat tappet to maintain low maintenance and longevity. The guy does laps at many tracks, hence No Roller Cam. I knew going in the 2.19 intake valve would be a limiting factor on this size engine for flow, hence the 7.100 BME's to try and carry the head.
Dyno'd at an Independant Dyno Service we use called Dyno Plus Services, High river, Alberta canada. This Engines sheets will be up on the site soon, when Pierre, the owner finds time.
894 Horsepower @ 6800 rpm
760 ft/lbs @ 5600 rpm
Interesting to note, the Torque curve passes 750 ft/lbs @ 5000 rpm, and stays above 700 ft/lbs right to 6800 rpm !
