 Do you guys think that tuning the carb will change things?  I really have no clue??  I am running an Edlebrock 600 on a Wiend Dual plane intake (Just from parts that were around) I know that You can get more torque from one than the other, i think that mine is built for the horse power.  ??  if there is a carb tuning that will make a difference i would like to hear about it before I Swap back out.  OK thanks guys!

for the carb tuning I was thinking along the lines of, say a Holley Double pumper,  trying some different cams and squirts etc....    my experience there is limited compared to most guys here so....

bummer you didnt get a bigger perf. difference.    :-\

  Very little perf. differenve ???   I am running a 484 lift cam with 292 lift.  but i can barely scratch the tires from a start.  I do have 3 speed auto tranny though (727).  If i was running a 4 sppen manual I know things would be different.   I can tell that I run at higher RPM's but with the higher gears (2.76) I can use more of second.   Both sets of gears do get a real good scrath when I bump it into second, and will somewhere between 85-90 in 1/4.  
I am not disapointed in the performance, just thought it would make more of a difference.

Actually with big blocks it rarely does , my Duster ran 12.0 in the 1/4 with 3.23 & 11.7 with 4.30

My experiences that I was reflecting on were a few chebbie 350's a 307, and a fxrd SB too...

they were 27x-29x hwy gears going to 3.5x and 3.7x  but man, it seemed like they were night-day differences at the time.

I have an open differential now and need SureGrip/Posi anyway....   I was holding out for 3.55 but shoot, maybe Ill just run 3.23 if there isnt going to be a noticeable difference on the streets.

Carb tuning can help if it is not tuned correctly , they rarely are
