Hello All!
« on: July 23, 2006 - 10:03:36 PM »
Hey all I am Pete and am a Camaro and Trans Am junkie. (I grew up spending Friday nights cruising in a 70 Challenger 440 4speed), so don't hate me too much! Also a former proud owner of 2 '73 Chargers

Anyway I am joining here for some advice and probably to make someone's day. I have the following cars:
2 67 Barracudas hardtops
1 69 Barracuda 318 4 speed convert.

I was going to restore the convert for a client and she is too far gone (in my eyes) to restore. We have reconditioned all the parts but the car hull is plain and simply gone (rusted bad) we cut the K frame off as we were going to transplant one of the K frames off the 67 (big block) onto it. The secondary mounts to the unibody are gone too and I simply did not think we could get it 100% right and being we were doing a 30k restore for the client I decided to abandon the project rather then chance having the car "off" and walk don the road sideways.

Anyway long story short, I deal in 70-81 Camaro and Trans Am and this old Mopar stuff is cool but I am lost . We are selling off the parts from all 3 cars and all the parts have been reconditioned (in most cases) so if anyone needs anything or can at least give me an idea on HOW to price this stuff I would be really thankful.

We are in the process of refunding the client the restoration deposit and also price of the 3 cars so I am hoping to cover the amount(8k) in the selling of the parts from the 3 cars.

That being siad I would GLADLY do some trading with anyone to get in a Challenger (70-74) if someone had the stray needing a home.

So that is me in a nutshell if you can offer advice or have some parts needs from any of the cars call or email me directly

Thanks all!

Welcome Fbodywarehouse!  As for your questions about regaining your money with these A-body Barracudas, I think we'd need to know if the '67 hardtops you have are either notchback or fastback models. (the fastback model is what most of the nostalgic racers ran in the '70s.  If they're both fastbacks and in restorable condition body-wise, then you should be able to bring a fair market value for the both of those.  As for the rusty convertible, perhaps someone else has a convertible that's missing top components or someone with a hardtop may want to tackle doing a conversion.  In that case, I think you could pull a fair price by selling the top components as a set. (though I don't really know any exact figures.)  As for any other pieces that bring a fair price, the mouldings and trim pieces seem to be going through the roof lately even with the A-body Barracudas.  I'm sure others will chime in, so just give it some time and you should get plenty more responses that I'm sure you'll like to see. :2thumbs:  Between those three cars, I'm sure you could manage to get $8,000.00 back and help others out with their projects or create a project for someone with enough ambition to tackle rebuilding any of these cars.

Welcome aboard Pete!

I think it cool you own a couple of Chargers :2thumbs:

Although I am first and formost a B Body guy owning a '69 Charger I love these E Bodies.

This is the right place to be for all you need.

Take care

Michael
Love all Mopars especially B and E bodies.  Currently own a '69 Charger touting over 550hp reverse valve train manual shift with a 3:55 posi rear end, Y2 yellow and, YES it is my Daily Driver.
One day an E body will be setting next to her.
