1973 'Cuda For Sale Street and Open Road Race Ready
« on: April 18, 2018 - 08:57:47 PM »
If anything wont fit (pics)  go to Craigslist https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/1973-cuda-fur-sale/6565057748.html for complete details and more pics or email me schrh@juno.com
Asking $25,000
Car located in Denver/ Thornton Colorado

NOTE  Pictures shown are of "street" setup.
With a pedigree of some 14 Open Road Races, most of which have maintained speeds of 160-190 mph. Arguably the fastest (not quickest) real 'Cuda on the planet.
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh09RK2GLP4
Turns 2000 rpm at 80 mph on the highway in 4th. This "Fish" will cruise at 195mph...
GPS'd at 202 mph at 2012 Nevada Open Road Challenge....'nuff said......
A couple of things up front.....
This is NOT a show car, or trailer queen. I would prefer to sell to someone who will continue to race the car.
The car is STREET LEGAL in Colorado.  As long as the "collector plate" status is maintained  emissions will NOT be required.
Yes it could be "brought back" to stock HOWEVER it would need a new dash pad and trunk floor.
The cage and seat reinforcing plates could be removed but the frame connectors would be a major issue so I would advise against removing them.
Plus they strengthen up the "frame" (no flex) considerably.
Original equipment power steering setup, power brake setup, and wipers with motor included.
Also race nose piece, air dam, side skirts, straight pipe exhaust, and forced air box to radiator included.

DRIVELINE AND AXLE
All parts are new when rebuilt and put together with any heavy duty applications I could find. 2.76 Ratio hogs head with stock bearings.
Drive shaft is .030 thicker than stock.
Tires are Michilen PS2's Y rated at 180+.

SUSPENSION & BRAKES
Basically a stock setup with disc rears and fronts. Manual brake set up. Torsion Bar (Hemi) the fatest I could get from M.P. KYB shocks.
FatMan Fabrication Drop Spindles. Rear leafs (Hemi) with coil over shocks. Manual steering. Stock front and rear sway bars. Custom built panhard bar.

SAFETY
5 LP supression fire system with 5 nozzles. 3 pound hand held. Full 6 point roll cage 4 mounted in the frame connectors with roof ladder bar and "spiders web"
behind seats and extends into trunk with another cross bar and 2 points in reinforced plates. Removable door bars. Fuel Safe 25 gallon fuel cell with foam insert.
Engine restraints. Fuel line routed through cab in a hard line pipe. Sparco seats with 5 point harnesses mounted to reinforced floor pans (plates).
Aluminum seperator between cab and trunk (fuel cell). Inversion switch, this disconects power to the fuel pump in the event of a roll over, so no motor run on.
External fuel cut off switch on taillight panel. Fuel pump cut off switch on dash and master battery kill switch on roll bar at drivers reach.
Quick release steering wheel with center pad. Scatter shield and SFI bellhousing. Driveshaft Loop. Window nets.
In short this car will pass tech for any ORR events Unlimited Class.

BODY
Body is in great condition and straight. Was originally from south Ca. south of Palm Springs so no salt air.
Did have the typical front and rear wheel areas on both sides but they were minimal and have been repaired.
No other past rust to mention.

WHAT DOES IT NEED?
Lower valance need to be reworked to allow for a screen to be installed in the gap between the bumper and lower valance.
Headlight bucket mounts need to be fabricated to install them in grill cutouts.
Grill could use some slots to allow for extra air when driving around town. none of these projects is a big deal.

ADDITIONAL
Full set of Autometer gauges, Fuel, water temp, oil temp, oil press, vacuum, EGT, 2 air fuels, voltmeter, tach, speedo, xmsn temp, axle temp.
Set up for xmsn oil cooler but not completed. Elec fuel pump. Alum radiator.
No back seat.
FM/CD radio.

I've been clicking on your add like every day for a long time now.
Been tempted a few times.  Looks to me to be a hell of a deal for what is there.  Love the look and function of your ride!

Awesome car with FM/CD radio, ‘cause at 200 mph you gotta crank up some AC/DC.

Bobfish,

I notice the cowl hood.  Do you like that for performance reasons?  Or do you have a reason for a cowl induction hood?
Do you think this car can drive across state? reliability?    Or is it primarily for racing?
