It sort of has a Shelbyesque feel to it...
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I like the short spoiler on the Black Challenger the best. It's not too big or too wide. I've seen a few of our members with it on there cars so maybe someone will have more info.

yes, that was the look I was going for in the first place... I asked bulldog but he didnt build the car and didnt get an answer from the builder.  :banghead: I am leaning towards going back with the stock "eyebrows"... but I do like the AAR/Camaro type too!  :pullinghair:

I also think you should re-think the BLACK color!! it is kind of harsh!! the blue is a real cool color and that black really stands out way too much!! It is a BIG spoiler and the black makes it look REALLY BIG!!!! maybe paint it a different shade of the blue! my T/A spoiler and hoodscoops are painted a darker shade of the ice blue than my car is painted and it looks pretty good (I think!) makes them stand out but not like a sore thumb like black would! just my  :2cents: also makes them blend with the paint job!!

It sure looks like the spoilers you always see on early Camaros. If that's the case it should be easy to find one at the next Good Guys swap meet.

Not to confuse everyone, :poopoke: maybe some of the older members have a better recollection on this, but didn't the front spoiler used to be called something different. I always thought a spoiler went on the rear & the front was an air dam or some other name.  :-\

If he goes with the T/A spoiler on the trunk that is black, and if he has a black T/A style hood, the chin spoiler should probably be black as well. He could do it all body color though. It would probably look too out of place if they don't all match one way or the other.

Consistency is the key. Even if the chin stands out against the body in the front, if you carry that theme through on the rest of the car, it will make sense.

This is what it looks like on my Challenger:

As I recall, a spoiler is a sort of wing; it "spoils" the airflow, i.e., deflects it, to create downforce. Spoilers have to be more rigid, and so are usually mounted higher on a street car.

An airdam blocks airflow under the chassis to create a vacuum under the chassis that pulls the car down (or, to be technical, that allows greater air pressure above the car to push down on it). Airdams have to be very close to the ground to be of any use, so they're usually made of some flexible material so they don't crack when they bottom out. They need side-skirts as well. A lot of ricers have the airdam/sideskirt combo.

 :iagree: I think your right.

I remember when I was little I used to hear the term "air dam" but never repeated it because it had a "bad word" in that term (damn).
