    Looking for opoinions on Goodmark sheetmetal

    Since Goodmark is preparing to sell Challenger and Cuda front fenders, I was wondering what experiences people have had with their products. The fenders will be $600 apiece, and I probably wouldn't mind paying that much as long as no further fabrication would be required, and the fit is comparable to original. What have their other products been like? I was hoping someone would like to share their Goodmark experiences (Good or bad), maybe with fenders for other models that are already available.

    I won't ever buy from them again. They shipped a quarter panel in a box so huge that it bounced around in it like a beebee in a paint can. It's a long story but to say the least, they weren't any help and I ended up keeping my damaged panel. PS: They use BAX global carriers to ship their stuff, same story, they were rude and unwilling to help. More to story as well but I'll just say Goodmark and BAX sucks. That's my  :2cents:

    I bought a trunk lid from Year One and it came in one of the biggest boxes I have ever received. Inside that one was another box, just a little bit bigger than the trunk lid, but with no packing to prevent the inner box from smashing around. The trunk lid had a slight dent in it and a lot of tiny raised bumps on it. Even though I ordered it from Year One, the inner box had Goodmark on it. Hmm...

    Got a Goodmark rear valance with cutouts - weighed 1/2 of original valence - shook like a flimsy fishing pole.

    Rear valance without cutouts is for sale and in excellent shape

    Flimsey stuff, small repair patches aren't too bad but they aren't as high quality as they should be either.
    Hey Four-Fourty-Fied, yours was a drop shipment, literally. LOL Mine wasn't a drop ship, it must have been a bounce shipment.  :eek7:

    I have not had any experience with Goodmark but have heard the above complaints several times. Another reason to go with original sheet metal if you can find it. As far as Bax goes the just cost my nephew $350.00 when he shipped a table that arrived as toothpicks and they won't do a thing to  help, and he works for them.

    I got a Year One rear valance w/ cutouts. Don't know about the weight comparison, but the bodyman said it too quite a bit of work to get it to fit properly. Looks great now. I would guess the Goodmark one is made by the same company, but if it isn't, I'm sure the results would be the same.

    As far as I know they are the only company making replacement sheetmetal. All other companies that sell it get it from Goodmark. I have bought many products from them; lower quarter panel patch for Challenger, quarter skin for Challenger, both quarter skins for 71 'cuda, outer wheelhouses for cuda, rear valance with cut outs for both cuda and challenger. They have all been decent, but all have required some modification in order to fit properly. Of all the sheetmetal that I have gotten from them, the cuda rear valance fit the best and required the least amount of work. Supposedly things like the full quarters and fenders are to factory spec and will fit correctly, but not sure.

    There are basically 3 companies selling reproduction sheet metal, Goodmark, Shermans/Cross Canada (sister co. to Shermans) and Autobody Specialties. Basically only one manufacturer produces the majority of it for all of them over in Taiwan (C.H.L. Auto parts, Short for Chong Leige or similar spelling) so you won't likely see any quality difference on most items between vendors, I'd choose your vendor based on service IMO.

    So, due to the common source the quality from one vendor to the next will not typically vary too much. Some recent items are better than previously available (Challenger quarters for instance) but the majority of it is substandard to OEM metal by a decent margin. There are also a few recent panels offered by USA manufacturers, Autobody Specialties (great service/great vendor BTW) carries some nice floor and trunk floor stuff made here in the states, better than I've seen anyplace else, but as far as I know none of it is made for the outer body of the cars here in the States.

     :clueless: i was thinking about getting a r. rear lower rear patch panel from them,anyone ever use one of these yet?has anyone checked THE PADDOCK for any of your needs???  :burnout: love doing burnouts!
