slap stick shifter

I have a slap stick shifter changes in every gear hard to get it to stay into park  but it is all loose and dosn't slap found a spring under the console dont know where it goes any one know where to start to fix it and any diagrams on how to repair the shifter.

That's the return spring you found and is very important. I can't post photos as the sites full.
I can post them via photo hosting but that's too much effort at the moment...lol

The spring ypou found is probably the forward linkage spring , it sits with the coil towards the rear & left side ontop of the lower pivot support plate but I really need a pic to show how it sits

Here's a couple pics showing the tension spring on the forward slapstick bellcrank installed. Ignore the Joe Dirt interior, this was the setup to get to the interior shop.

I fixed the shifter but dont know how this spring goes to hold it into park is this the right one any close up shots
