Timing Question For 340 With New Cam???

I just put a new Engle Hyd Cam in my 71 Cuda 340.......it's a k58 grind and the cam card says it's duration @ 50 is 231/231....@ .06 it's 280/280.....lift is 514/514.....I have a 4-speed......3:55's......stock intake....J heads....original TQ Carb and headers..........here's my question any ideas as to what I should set my timing at with this set up :clueless: :clueless:.....I just have it set now for a stock cam @5 BTC...with is out of my original service manual....doesn't seem to drive bad but have not gone that far yet with it. Any ideas at to what the timing should be set at and the best way to find the best setting :1zhelp: :1zhelp:

I would try 13 to 18 degrees at idle and 34-36 degrees total.  Listen to the idle pick-up as you advance it.  It is now burning more of the fuel.

 :iagree: as you advance the timing you will feel the engine smooth out & gain rpm , total timing is more important than idle
