71 Cuda Question.
« on: June 16, 2003 - 10:19:50 PM »
I have just purchased a new package tray ( goes between my backseat and rear window) for my 71 Cuda and have a dumb question.
How do you go about removing the old one and replacing it with the new one?
When I got it from Year One there were no instructions or parts (clips..Etc..) in the box. I assume that it must just slid in someway??
Anyone know what to do...."PLEASE" let me know.
Thanks Guys and Gals..

 ;) Hey Woody9512,
I did that a couple of years back. I don't remember anything giving me fits, so that's a positive right there. Sometimes I can be challenged quite easily :P Just take out the back support area of the back seating. It lifts right out. Then remove the trim from around the bottom of the rear window. I believe you have to remove the side trim to get the bottom trim out though. Next you have to remove the 2 side panels in the back. To get them out, you remove the scuff plates in the doorway, then the rear window handles, then maybe a couple of screws in the panel. My panels didn't have any screws from apparently being removed so many times. You might want to remove the bottom of the rear seat at this point to get the rear panels out easier. If I remember right, the package tray just slides in there. I had to make some 6X9 cutouts in mine for speakers, which added to the task, but if I can do it, ANYBODY can ;D ;D ;D
