My 72 challenger is at the shop as we speak. It's my first time going there but the place was recommended by the president of the Mopar Power Club of Long ISland, which I'm a member of. The shop owner has and races 4 mopars, I think at least 2 of them are e-bodies. My problems included bottoming out on dips in the road, excessive wheel hop, and in general a poor front end. Anyways, here is what he found:
He said my torsion bars are shot and he's looking at 5 or so different sizes and picking the best one for my application, 340 engine, I'm guessing around a .920?
He also said the tie rods, idler, etc. are all good but I need all the bushings changed up front and recommended moog rubber over poly-anything. Agree?
I also am going to need ball joints. I figured I might as well change the shocks as well.
I'm just looking for some opinions on all of this. Did I miss anything? How much do you think this will cost? I'm guessing $1000-$1500?
