What did you cover your interior in?
« on: August 18, 2006 - 06:23:37 PM »
Dynamat, Lizard skin, tinfoil, or nothing?  I'm looking at insulating the interior, and am not sure what works best.  Heat is my main concern, but sound deadener or double duty material would be helpful too.

Any suggestions?

From the cheep seats, I bought foil insulation from Home Depot, also used on roof

and foam from Knoxfoam , but it appears they are out of the more flexable BLACK, if you keep checking they will have eventualy

total investment for floor & roof, less than $100.00 including a couple of cans of 3M spray glue

also using the foam to line my door panels for sound.

We used this stuff and bought it from this guy in the auction.  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Automotive-Insulation-Car-Truck-Hot-Rat-Street-Rod-Van_W0QQitemZ330017963404QQihZ014QQcategoryZ46094QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem  We used 2 rolls for the chally (floors and roof) and just bought some for Pixie's duster. It was really easy to use.  Here's some pics of our car with it.

REV, that looks just like the stuff I got at Home Depot. Did it have like plastic air bubbles sandwiched between the layers of foil?

I used the same stuff that Rev and Red used, got it from the same place too. (Thanks Rev & Red!) I was also very impressed with the ease of installing it. It doesn't have air bubbles, it is a white plastic foam kind of like the sheets of plastic foam padding used to pack glassware. That's about the only way I know to describe the stuff.
