Heater Controls Dash Light?
« on: September 21, 2006 - 11:10:58 PM »
Hi gang,

The other night I fired up my 71 cuda and turned on the ralley dash lites. There seems to be one bulb that illuminates the heater/AC controls which clicks on for a minute or two and then clicks off and then back on and off repeatedly.  I would assume that a bulb is either on or off. It definitely is an audible click so I don't think it is the bulb.

Is this connected to some sort of relay that is going bad?  I haven't had a chance to stick my big head in there and look yet as I really don't know what to look for anyway.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,  Ed

something is not connected correctly, the heater light should just stay on , it may be plugged into the ign key light timer

The hearter control light makes its ground through the screws that holds the switch panel in at the bottom, sounds like a bad ground.

426,

Thanks for the reply.  It definitely sounds like that could be the culprit.
