Found a broadcast sheet today...
« on: September 01, 2006 - 07:31:55 PM »
While doing my first clean out of my Challenger today I found a build sheet in the rear seat. Sadly, it doesn't belong to this car but someone may need this for their's. So, if you own a 1973 Barracuda with the VIN # of BH23G3B506579. I have your build sheet.

Thanks for letting us know. Here is a list of places to check;

Taped to the back side / top of the glove box insert.
Under the front bucket seats in the springs
Inside the bucket seat backs
Under the rear seat bottom
In the rear seat back.
Under the package tray(speaker shelf)
Under the carpet

Best of luck with the rest of the search!

I'll check those spots as I do my slow disassembly. Thanks for the info everyone. Hopefully I find my sheet somewhere in the car. Is there a registry that I can go to to find all of the options my car came with if I don't find the sheet? The data tag on the drivers fender is badly rusted and only a few of the options codes that are listed can be read. Given the JH23 designation on the vin tag I'm assuming the car was in the "High" bracket and came with a few more options than a stock JS code car. Am I wrong?  :dunno:

H is the lowest price class for a Challenger. Challengers, some 340 cars, even the T/As were H.

The price class desginations spanned model lines so a Valiant would be L for low, H would be the next step up.

Can you read some of the codes better by looking at the back side?

Now that's some CSI kinda stuff!!!  :roflsmiley:  I can't wait to get back to the car now, hope it works!

Thanks for the info on the "H" designation. I was mis-informed somewhere along the line and took it for fact. Good thing I've got you guys to keep me straight :screwy: If the CSI stuff doesn't work is there a data base I can access to get the codes for my vin#? If I can get the codes off the tag, is there anyone that reproduces the tags?

Hopefully your tag codes are readable. Post photos of it or email the photos to me if you like, if there are holes here and there I may be able to figure out what they are for you. If you can find a matching broadcast sheet for it that would help too. If the information is there, you can have a new tag made.

Best of luck!

Thanks Barry,

One more question,

I know this question belongs somewhere else but, do all 70 challengers have a 4.5 bolt pattern on the wheels? My car was a slant 6 and it has the 14 inch wheels (original?) on it now. I haven't  measured them yet to find out.Is it possible they could be the smaller 4.0 size? Measurements are still done from the outside of one stud to the center of the one across from it...right? I'm having a stupid day!  :eek4:

Center to center on the measurement, and all E-Bodies are 4.5 inches.

Saving my butt one question at a time...Thanks Barry!!

Say, where are you at in the AK. My uncle used to run a fishing guide/charter boat up there. I beleive he was out of Juneau. I've always wanted to see that area...never could afford the plane ride.
