vin identification
« on: September 12, 2006 - 09:28:01 PM »
I have a vin from a car with nothing but a vin.  How do I go about finding out what this car was before I cut it up for parts?  I would hate to cut up a rare car for a not so rare car.  thanks

Post the VIN (at least the first 7 digits)

I am sorry.  I did not mean that I have the entire vin.  I made a mistake in the original question.  I have the cowl sequence numbers only for the car.  It is an early 1970 that was white and I need to know if having only the sequence numbers where I can find info on the car.  thanks and sorry.

What are the numbers you can see? I can check my files and see if any of my records match the body.

If it's in "parts car condition" I guess the door sticker is gone..... :dunno:
Do you "have" to cut it up? Can it be saved and your parts sourced elsewhere?

Hope that's not rude, just keeping an eye out for the hobby that's all.
