    Gas Tank Size

    I have a 1970 Challenger.  What is the gas tank capacity?  My car started it's life as a 383 SE.

    They are all 18 gallon tanks (70-74). There are differences over the years in the return lines, and venting. Since you have a 70, you have the simplest set-up.

    everything I have read says 16 gal tanks in E bodys & 18 in B bodys

    According to the picture I see of a '70 Challenger brochure, it says 18 gallon.

    Look at page, 123, image #14, right page, middle.

    I have always seen 18 gallon as well. I seem to recall that Barracudas had 16 gallon tanks.

    This '70 Barracuda brochure says 19 gallon????????  Maybe special for the Hemi and 440s?  :roflsmiley:

    Thanks, I will assume it is 18 gallons (gauge does not work....).

    Original tanks were 18 gallons plus a 1 gallon expansion tank which the repop tanks do not have.
