I finally thought of something to get my brother for christmas, he owns a 70 Cuda. I am rebuiding a 74 Duster ( :poopoke: ) and my dad has been working on a 68 Dart on and off since the dawn of time. He converted to manual steering a few months ago... I had been trying to think of somthing to get him and finaly realized that he would love to have a set of beefy 11/16 Tie Rods, I like the ones at Firmfeel.com but was wanting to see what other people were running and wanted to see what other people thought of them.

LETS SEE IF THIS WORKS!

I am running out of time for getting a present!  :stomp:

We replaced the original tie rods a few years ago when we rebuilt his suspension with poly bushings. He converted to a fast ratio manual steering a few months ago, he a had a heck of a time aligning the front end, all the alignment shop around here told him they couldn't align a car that old that they didn't have any guidlines or information on them  :sly: he had a hard time adjusting the sleeves but eventually got it. I think this is something that would only improve upon the car so... I dont think I can go wrong with it, aslong as they fit.  :working:

Thanks for all the info!

Too bad I didn't see ths post earlier...I accidentally bought two sets when I ordered mine and could've sold you my spare set.  I haven't installed mine yet, but I can only imagine how superior they are to the originals.  Maybe look into the lower control arm (LCA) box plates, too. (they get welded to them)  Those help a ton (Mopar Muscle article with statistics) and they're pretty cheap. (again, something I've bought but haven't installed yet.)

I burned a set of re-enforcement plates out on the laser here at work for my duster, we do alot of stainless steel, they had a run of 10 Gauge (0.140" thick). I made a set for my dad and a set for my duster, when I rebuilt my suspension I used a stainless rod and welded them to my lower control arms, also beefed up my k-frame (I am building a mild 440). I want to say that my brother did the same to his car when he rebuilt his but I cant remember... Thanks for the info though!

So,, if I were to just rebuild my front end would it be better to go with a "complete kit"  from springsnthings, pst, etc or buy tie rods, ball joints and links from napa or equal (MOOG) and buy poly bushings from springsnthing, or pst or equal?    dud,,, did that make any sense :blah:

I am really sorry about not posting any pictures. I ended up changing jobs at the begining of the year and my schedule has been nuts! I going to post some pics of the car in the next couple of days, they are calling for severe storms in the forcast so they probably wont be recent. I have several scanned from several years ago from when he painted it. I will see if I can get some of them on here.

Sorry again!

Check out the newb board, I have a couple of pictures of the car on there, the subject has possible Blues barracuda pics, or something like that.
