383 build

OK time to build 383 for my Bee(I'm baging my numbers engine).Chryco,what heads should i use and what compression?I can use 906 or 915's,i have both.If i go 906 i want 10-1 and should i go 9-1 with 915's?Do yo remember the Engle specs you gave me for the prefious 383 i built?I think it was 525 lift but dont know the rest

I would aim for 9.8 compression & definatly use the 915 castings if you have them available , the chamber design will make more power & help stop detonation with quench
 the cam was probably the engle K 56 0r K 58 , it depoends excatly what you want this engine to do

Just for street perfomance I think it was the k58 if i remember right.Yes i have a nice set ready to be rebuilt,already tanked and magnufluxed.SO what compression pistons should i look for to get close to 10-1 with 915 heads?thanks

the Speed Pro L2315F with the closed chambers will put you in the 9.7 range with a .035 thick composition gasket

I would build a stroker 400 that still looks like the original 383.

could do that as well if you have a spare 440 crank & rods handy
