Fender tag clarification needed

    Fender tag clarification needed

    I have done my research, but something does not quite add up. I have a 72 Challenger that I am getting ready to sell, so I want to be clear.

    TB3 cars, "Petty Blue" or Blue Streak blue cars had a popular choice of interior colors. Since I do not have the build sheet for this car, only the fender tag, I do not know exactly what it had, but I can hopefully assume the following

    B6XW-  High vinyl buckets, B trim clas, Black and white interior

    This could be broken down into the following variations:

    1. Black IP, Black kick panels, Black doorpanels and  carpet, White seats

    2. Black IP, White kick panels, White doorpanels, white seats, Black carpet

    3. Black IP, White kick panels, White doorpanles, Black seats, black carpet


    I think my money is on variation # 1.

    Or, is it Blue, black and white? I know that could have been.

    Everything is white, except IP, steering column, carpet, seat belts, rear package tray, console and kickpanels which are black.

    There was a site which had images of all of the examples of the variations you could get. I don't know where I put that link.
    I have had new/refurb'd computers both at home and at work, so I will have to dig for the link for a few days,
    unless that is, someone else has a link they could share...

    White vinyl was available in combination with the colors listed below.
    Seats, door panels and headliners were white while the dash, center console
    (if ordered), carpeting, kick panels and horn pad were in the contrasting color.

    SO, I answered my own question, but HAS there ever been a case of Black doorpanels and white seats?

    So, you are comparing a '70 interior to a '72?  I don't see a B6XW interior listed anywhere on that website.  Challengers only white interior was black and white.

    I know, it's like comparing apples to oranges, but it's the best image I can find. Beleive me, I looked pretty hard.

    I don't see a grade mentioned for B class trim either. I thought it might be P, I will have to take a hard look at the fender tag.
    I sure wish there was more info on 72-74. I ma sure that they will become the next big thing someday; Probably just the rare birds.
