1971 GTX
« on: October 18, 2006 - 04:28:00 PM »
Did anybody see the episode of Wrecks to Riches, where Barry restored a Belvedere and created a GTX ??? Sweet car, but I remember him taking it to auction and I can't remember how much it went for. It is on Old Rides website for $89,000, I am thinking that this is quite a mark up, but can't remember how much.

I think there is a thread about that car somewhere here.
Quite obviously done by a chevy guy.
He painted the engine bay black, put in a ferd 9" rear and put a hemi in it (he said all GTXs came with Hemis)

Also on the ad where they were selling it, they didnt state that it was really a satellite and not a GTX.

Thats right it was 2 Satellites, but I was thinking that it went for around $48,000. I belive you though before I trust my memory. It was after seeing this sweet thang that I started looking at GTXs on the web.

Would rather he restored the 2 Satellites, instead of turning them into one clone.
