Interior door panel resto for 71 Challenger

What's the best product for restoring interior door panels? I've heard of SEM 4-step process, but was curious if that's the best product for removing scratches and repainting the panels????

Welcome to the forum 71challey!  We did our panels with the SEM products and they turned out excellent.  This stuff does nothing for deep scratches however.  It simply cleans and dyes the panels.  Here's our web page on the before and after shots. http://www.ridesthatrock.com/html/plastics.html  How bad are your panels?

I looked at the SEM website but couldn't figure out which are the correct products to use for refinishing plastic parts.  Help

I only used 3 of their products. The "prep", the dye, then the clearcoat. My door panels came out looking spiffy.  :jumping:

Prep number 38353
piant number 15013
clearcoat number 13003

Here's a pic of the four products we used.  Other's have done without the soap and used a good degreaser several times.

MEK...we didn't use a clear coat. :dunno:

Rev,

You probably didn't need to, but I always go for the spiffiness.

Hey Mike, would it be inappropriate to ask if you think the same way about your shoes? :roflsmiley:

What a great  site you've made there! Well documented with coloured pics.

I'm searching through different threads considering where or IF to buy new inner door panels, but now I'm getting more into restoring my existing ones. They're worn, but not cracked any places.

Thanx again, I've added it to mine Favourites.

Thanks Babyelephant!  It's been over a year since we dyed the panels and they still look brand new.  I wouldn't hesitate to dye them yourself using the SEM stuff.

Will the SEM stuff work over chalky sunburned panels?

I would venture to guess that it would work well.  I know sometimes when they get so dry they start to flake off the texture...nothing that I know of can help with that.  But, if they aren't crumbling, I bet it would work.
