How about some more info on your car?  How long ago was the car repainted?  Why was the engine bay painted black?  Do you have the fender tag and broadcast sheet?

I might be asking questions that are already posted, but is it the original transmission and engine?

jc777 I don't think it is a bad year, it is just an off year. The 1970 & 1971 cuda's are the most popular to many, had low production numbers, and 71 was the final year for the hemi.

Pros: - The 73 I believe would be the last year the 340 motor was ever offered, and if you do have a matching numbers car it could be a gem in the future.

Cons: - However the 340 comp ratio dropped to 8.5:1 compared to 10.5:1 from 70-71 which didn't help performance.

73's will probably never have the status that the previous years had or command the same amount of money. The 72's, 73's and 74s are the last of their line and although they never came with hemi's they are still very nice cars. Bottom line, it always comes down to what you put into you car and how much someone likes your ride for the big dallor purchases.

As far as i know the car was repainted by the previous owner a year or so before i got it in december of 2004. The engine bay was like that when i got the car. I have the broadcast sheet but the fender tag was missing also when i got the car. The engine is a 1970 340 block that the previous owner said he swapped because of the compression.... and im not sure if the transmission is original or not.
