Hello all you E-body (and other Mopar) crazies!
I recall looking at this site some time ago and thinking it was pretty cool and that I should join and...stuff happened and I forgot all about it. Until the other day when someone posted the link in response to another message on the Yahoo E-body group and I "found" you guys again. I've looked over the site again and all I can say is:
I'm sure I'll be spending some time here, asking questions and learning from all those of you who've put in the time and sweat equity to get your cars where they are now.
I have a '70 Challenger R/T, Hemi Orange. It's originally a 383 Los Angeles car and appears to have lived all of it's life in SoCal (I'm in San Diego) - so, not too much rust. Somewhere in it's life, a previous owner dropped a 440 in it. It also has a 4-speed, but as you can see from the holes in the floor, it may not have started out that way. (Speaking of which, can anyone tell me how I can be sure? I'd check the fender tags, but they appear to have hitched a ride with the 383.) Anyway, I bought this car in 1993 for $750 and shortly thereafter acquired wife, step-kids, baby, and then house, so the car ended up waiting for time and money that has only just started to become available in surplus quantities again. It won't happen fast, but at least it's starting to get moving again.
