    The snow hasn't arrived yet and the engine and transmission are back together.  I'll drop it in next weekend but will probably need another week or two to get the new electric fuel pump system in and get everything else hooked up.

    I got it running but their is still a minor leak from one of the head gaskets.  I retorqued it and it seems to be okay.  I've got the new electric fuel pump installed but the I don't like the bracket I made for the pump and I think the filter is mounted too high but that is easy enough to fix.  I have to admit that I've though about tossing the whole lot and installing a cast iron headed big block!

    Well, from experience, no factory stroke big block will make the same grunt as your 408. Close, but not quite. take a few breaths, walk away if you have to, but keep after it. You'll be happy in the end... :cheers: Go buy another flat of beer for the mechanic ;)
