I am putting together a mild 440 with about 425HP.   My torque converter will also be relatively mild at 2800 or thereabouts.   My main objective is me and the family like going to car shows.   Car will see less than 5000 miles a year and will be trailer queen for things longer than a few hundred miles.    Does Mopar make a good rebuild kit for this application?   I know there are alot of people making these kits.   Not a drag car but I will occasionally shower down on it.   Any suggestions on a kit maker and why?

I used a Pioneer kit from Checker Auto in mine with a B&M Transpak valvebody kit, and have hammered on it at the track for around 60-80 passes. Everything has held up good.

Shift kit wise ,go with a TF1 or TF2 Transgo Shift Kit and you will be fine.Transgo kits are better than B&M Kits hands down! :grinyes:

It really depends on what you need for your transmission, kits are not going to come with thrust washers that you will probably need to adjust end play, spring and roller kit for the sprag if you need one etc. The best thing to do is disassemble the transmission and see what you need , then go from there.
I am not really in the transmission parts selling business but I will make up a custom kit for anybody on this forum and ship it to them.
Check your input shaft end play before you take it apart!

A little high on the price but not a bad deal. If what you see in the picture is what you would be getting, than it is all good stuff. It has the blue clutches in it that are a waste of money but at that price it is OK. It has the good brass filter ,all new thrust washers with a few selective for end play adjustment, all new bushings . I have used Transtar in the past, good company.

You can also buy from transtar directly if they have a distributor in your area, I've had pretty good luck going this way.....
