Fender tag shows no G codes, mirrors always seem to be on the tag...Car was equipt with standard mirror on drivers side only... :2cents:

BTW  are you sure of the R44?

so should a painted remote be the standard mirror for my car?

since the door panel does not have a hole for the mirror do you think it has been replaced?

No, your car came with a standard mirror, I looked for a picture last night but couldn't find a decent one, the std mirror is very plain, not aerodynamicly shaped... FWIW practically every one has been changed as the sport mirrors look so much better....

I think this is it. although I have seen round ones. Maybe they are a later year.

I can't swear that is it, but it definitely has the 70 E-Body base on it.

If I remember correctly; In the 1971 release of the movie "Vanishing Point"  They show a close up of the non remote mirror when he gets out to change his flat.
