Call a notary or the DMV and see how much of a problem the title is in your state. PA is extremely strict on title issues. In PA, both parties have to be present, no if's, and's or but's. If you  know a notary real well, he may circumvent the requirements, but thay usually have to really know and trust you. On the other hand, I bought a car in Ohio, and the seller only had a signed title, and there was no problem with me buying it. So the requirements differ greatly between states.

I wouldn't do it. I think the hardtop is worth more and plus, I don't like rags, but heh, that's just me...

71 tx9 n96 cuda = awesome
i'm building my 71 hardtop to beat the crap out of.  a vert just wouldnt do it for me.  i'm pretty sure i'd eventually break it in half.  all in all, i would keep the hardtop.
One step at a time...

Well it's gonna go down. He's coming in the morning. Aloha Motos tried to buy it for 46k, we instead decided to deal a straight up trade. It's hard for me to do since my wife is totally against trading it..

I said it will be the same cuda.. just with a haircut. I'll post some more pics after it arrives and everything goes fine.

I think you are making a HUGE mistake... there is a reason that the guy wants to do this trade - because he knows he is getting the better end of this deal.

Think about it - an original, record holding, hardtop 'Cuda 340 for a plain-jane 318 vert. In the end, you are trading a genuine 'Cuda for something that, try as it might, will never have the "s" in the second VIN spot.

Once again, I think you are making a big mistake... but its your car in the end.

I must be getting senile trying to follow all of this.  You DID trade him your 71 for the Tx9 Vert then?

Well I'm stuck with it  lol  :roflsmiley:

He didn't like how the rear frame fabricated to accomodate the big tires for racing. He said it kills the tru value of the car. His car will someday be a very nice vert clone, but it needed another quarter & had small holes starting in the frame. Add that to no drivetrain = lots of $$. Don't get me wrong his car is prop worth alot more. Now I can just put the $$ it would take for a drive train and get my car finally painted in 07. He was a nice guy though.. & he'll make out better selling i guess.

It's a keeper now. Prob meant to be.  :stirpot:

YAY!!!

You made the right choice - once your car is painted and back cruising the streets, you'll be wondering why you even considered trading it.
