Small Block Intake Gasket?
« on: November 23, 2006 - 11:57:11 AM »
For those of you with small blocks has anyone used the MP gasket #4286569 with the heat crossover blockoff plates? I just pulled my performer intake and it appeared that a few cylinders may have been sucking oil by the gasket and into the intake port. I was planning on blocking the heat crossover but the steel block off plates seem like they will make this problem worse? I also have a set of gaskets from Mr Gasket that don't have the plates, but the gasket isn't cut for the crossover. Maybe I should just use this gasket? Not sure if the gasket will burn out or not. Also do you use any sealant on the gaskets around the intake ports or just around the water passages? Thanks for your input.

I generally use the Fel Pro blue gaskets & with then I only need sealer on the end rails
you can block the heat cross over port But is has to have stainless in the gasket to live otherwise it will blow through
