96 1500 heater vacume line
« on: November 21, 2006 - 10:42:59 AM »
does anyone have a dodge 1996 1500 service manual, one of the vacume lines that goes from the intake manifold in through the firewall and i think into the heater box broke. it is 1/8 flexible black hose. the heater does not blow hot, warm air. and switches back and forth from place selected to blow floor, defrost, direct on passangers.

any guess would be appreciated and if you know were it goes. ill try and upload a picture if anyone has a similar truck, it is a a/c 5.2 1996 1500.

on the last picture the line in question is the one near the bottom left hand corner on the end of the piece.

I have a 71- 96 Haynes manual.
trying to understand where the broken part is. is it off the manifold in the engine bay???

if so- the manual shows the left side- rear port that also is used for the cruise control.
this shows for a 5.9lit ( 360 ) light duty

its the line 1/8" that goes into the cab from the split, that comes off the intake manifold.

1989-96 Chilton page 4-24 figure 74

to climate control, cruise control, 4wd axle (when equipped)
