I like the luggage racks myself. You can haul a cooler full of beer one on after all. Hard to that with a wing.

Ok luggage rack afficianados....how difficult is it to wax underneath the luggage rack?

I am planning on re-installing one on my car as it originally had one.

I hand wax around it with no problems but I also take it off every couple years while polishing the paint with an orbital polisher...But then I take most of the trim off every couple years, it allows me to polish the paint without worrying about the trim & allows me to clean & detail the parts that have been removed...
