But, the A78 Formal Roof Package for 1971 did include SE nameplates.

71RTSEWagon-Conv, looking at your fender tag, it does have the A46 molding package which included moldings normally found on SEs, but it was available on regular Challengers as well.

It does not have the A47 code for the Formal roof package though, so the car originally would not have had the small rear window.

Based on that I bet the door emblems were added to the car somewhere along the line?

It is my understanding that there were NO 71 SEs built, and NO 71s came from the factory with SE badges. Many of the SE options [not badges]  were avaiable in 71 and this may be the cause for some of the confusion.
