Congrats on the sale. Give us some details what kind of a person bought it and how much did it go for? Next month Barrett has 15 hEMICUDAS going across the block I think that might bring the price down on those cars so it was good timing selling yours now.
I agree Jeff, there are a BUNCH of Hemi cars going accross the blocks at the upcomming Barrett, but few are original Hemi cars, (LOTS of clones) and even fewer yet that are what most people would consider primo examples. Anyway, what will happen at the future Barrett auction (or anyplace else) is anyones guess.
There is allot of talk about the current market being soft, and while I agree, prices aren't moving upward at the pace they were a year ago, based on what my customers tell me I think things are still pretty decent out there in the private buying & selling sector.
Regardless of the market I never fail to get surprised at Barrett results every year, you just never know what's going to happen (high or low bid results) sometimes a clone will exceed the price of the real thing just 3 cars in back of it, other times a quality car will bring 3 times any previous high record selling price, it just depends on which two guys decide to out bid each other, it's really crazy!
Personally I don't think you will see very many high quality Hemi cars getting auctioned off for much less than current market, in fact I wouldn't be surprised to see a few examples go even higher, especially if they are special in terms of extreme rarity/condition.
