Hughes is playing salesman. Jeff's head programs are head and shoulders above anything hughes puts out for that money. Especially on a stroker buildup, the max port will way outflow std port opening heads. And sometimes "fast small ports" are too fast, and dont make as much power. Especially on a bigger inch engine. The Victors are Edelbrock's challenge to the -1 Indys. They should prove to be a good head for the money IMO and AFAIK do not need the external oil lines like the "Frankensteinish" Indy offerings. As far as flow testing, truthfully, to be apples to aples, the same guy needs to flow each head, on teh same bench, on the same day. Otherwise the numbers are hard to compare. Hughes numbers have always been inflated. As have Indy's claims. Jeff at Modern is usually pretty close (say within 5-10cfm) to others' readings when things are tested on different benches by different guys. That's about as good as you will get in terms of flowbench readings. I will always tkae a dim veiw of Hughes or Indy's calimed cfm sheets. results dont lie. They inflate their numbers.
