Waterman racing engines was located at 1939 W Artesia Blvd Gardena, CA 90247, they are no longer in business....I think they went out of business in the late 80s.

The car looks familiar, I bet he cruised the local scene in Riverside or San Berdo. We did a lot of street racing on Market Ave in Rialto CA.

I figured Waterman Racing was on Waterman in San Berdo. I believe the picture of the race is in Rialto.

It took me several months to buy the 71 cuda, once he agreed to sell it he removed the Hemi and put it in a Plum Crazy 50s dodge pick up truck. That should jog some memories.

As a lot of people in the late 80s we started hording options to add to the car, my Dad wanted Hemi orange car so body work was done and engine compartment was done EV2, life got in the way the car sat till the late 90s. After talking to some mopar friends, we decided to take the car back to original. So a rotiserre was built, and the car was taken to CAL Blast, (baking soda stripping). Then it was treated to metal prep and complete epoxy prime. All extra holes were welded closed, a few pin holes were also repaired. Luckily all the parts removed for racing came with the car in boxes. So about 20 years after purchase the car was actually getting worked on. It spent almost two years in paint shop jail. but was worth every day. The car was done on the "dip line" using product from Resto Rick. Then once the body was done, red oxide was applied then sanded off. Then the single stage paint was applied. Sat for several months the was slightly buffed. (almost)All panels are original, the exception is the hood, the original hood was stolen after a visit from a local parts guy. (hes still around) :villagers:. The hood is a 71 hood from a blue 340 car. I will post pictures of the paint process. All of the disassembly pictures and many of the early resto picture I do not have access too. But the rest I will post.

All keystone clamps are NOS or replated originals, 1/4" ones are impossible to find. Lic lense is NOS, the hose shield in the picture is actually correct for my 70, I was just trying fitment. 71 has a diffrent shield. The W is on both of the original tank straps, there is a Y on the drivers resinators interior support, I will add a picture of that.

Great job on the resto, keep up the great work! What a cool back story, any idea on what it would run in the 1/4? That had to be a pretty well known Cuda back in the day.
