Tailgating Mustang GT
« on: December 18, 2006 - 07:22:28 PM »
Was out cruising in my '68 Barracuda and had just noticed a shiny black Mustang GT in my rearview. I think it was an older Mustang maybe an '03. It had non-standard fat tires/rims and appeared to have a modified suspension. My Barracuda has a nicely built 360, bored .040 over. Has had some moderate head work done, MSD ignition, NOS sniper system, 12 gallon fuel cell & a lot of other crap that cost a lot of money, You guys know the deal. I'm not out looking for a race as I've been burned in the past for street drag racing & I'm still missing a cheek!! BUT this idiot rolls up behind me on the interstate acceleration ramp and gets so close behind me that I can't even see his head lights. Now I HATE tailgaters. This guys starts to veer side to side just itching to get around. Sooo as I roll up on the 3 lane interstate, I get in the far left lane to give this idiot plenty of room. When he rolls up next to me, I dropped it in 2nd :burnout: and nailed it up to about 110 (all throttle, no bottle). I looked back and he was about 3 car lengths back. He pulled back in the right lane and didn't even do a fly-by. I would have kinda enjoyed it, but I just chuckled as he got a nice view of my tail lights!! So the fish ate a pony & it was yummy!!! :roflsmiley:

Very nice....    :2thumbs:   Since he keeps tailgating Cuda's, I guess he likes how the tailights look...    :roflsmiley:      :cooldancing:

Great story. I had a similar situation with a BMW one time. Guess he liked my tail lights, because that's all he got to see when he tried to pass.

Nice work  :2thumbs:

Believe it or not, i had a similar run in with a 383 (350 stroker) 68 camaro. he couldn't catch up after i nailed it. At the stop light, the look on his face when i said '318' was priceless.  :grinyes: :lol2: :2thumbs:
