reproduction dash

Besides year one does anyone else make 70 challenger reproduction dashes? I have a 71-74 non ac dash in my 70 with ac car and want to switch it back.

I had to do a little trimming around the gauges, and AC vents, but I am very happy with the dashpad.

I don't think they have a web address. I was only able to contact them thru E-Bay. If you have a question for them, just click on the link I posted, then in the upper right, you can click on "ask seller a question".

Was the grain patern close to original? they seem like the way to go since I heard some Just Dashes horror stories.  I ordered a TSM and I think I'll wait until it gets here to see how to pull the pad , looks like a nightmare.

Well, I WAS big on Ultimate Rides, but some others here have had trouble getting their dashpads from them lately. I got lucky.  The grain pattern was about dead on, I'd say. Keep in mind, I'm super-critical since the 70 Challenger dashpad was different from other E-Body pads.

As for pulling the old pad. I did mine with the entire dash in, but others have taken the whole frame out. I can talk you thru it, if you decide to keep the frame in. You will have to take out the gauges, ash tray, and glove box.

It must be the same outfit but I've never heard the ultimate rides name before , is his name Allen? I think I'll deal direct with him and he says the back logs they had are caught up. I wonder if this is where yearone gets their dash pads?

It states:  "...The Challenger Emblem from your dash will need to be used.  We are in the process of applying for the rights to the trademark logo."

I thought the Challenger logo on 1970 dashpads was molded into the pad.  Is it possible to remove this 'Challenger' logo, and move it to the new pad?

I ordered my 70 dash from them last month and they said the 70 logo would be in it so not to worry about it. we'll see, I should be getting it any day but from what I'm hearing I don't know.

Was real happy with Just Dashes out of L.A. when I restored a 340 Duster recently.  I think they're at www.justdashes.com

Thanks for your feedback - Most of the cars I have seen at shows have dashes from Just Dashes, and the quality seems good.  I had not heard anything bad, but I noticed that AMXguy mentioned '...some Just Dashes horror stories' (in the post above).  Care to elaborate?

I don't know - They all seem a bit ridiculous, when we're talking about $600-$700 for some vacuum-formed vinyl over closed cell foam.  But it looks like we don't really have much choice, other than the hard covers that go over the dashpad.
