'70 'cuda door top edge trim
« on: January 09, 2007 - 09:49:54 PM »
Am putting the trim back on the top of the doors on my '70 'cuda... anybody know if the trim piece rear of the door, below the rear window, is held on by just the plastic clips or is there a metal nut and stud also?

Do a little digging out here http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/photos-engineeringDrawings.shtml

I think there are at least two different styles depending on year and the 70 is screwed in the front but I am going from memory right now and will try and get a picture of mine for you later.  If you figure out which is right from the other link go ahead and post back.

Our '70 Cuda (an LA car) has four plastic clips--no screws.  Pretty sure it was never touched.

I just checked my car but the camera went dead.  The moulding I have on my 70 must be the same moulding as what FY1 says that is smooth but there is a tab that goes down in the jab and screws horizontally that he isn't mentioning - maybe there is yet a 3rd style for what is called the beltline (not the side of the car stick on body) moulding.  I have in hand a set of the new style mouldings that instead of the screw tab in the front have a vertical screw through the face of the moulding.
