Thank you everyone. It's 9:30pm here in Baton Rouge. My wife and I just checked into the best western here.  Besides wrecks on I 59 south and the dozens of deer right on the side of the interstate, we made it just fine :2thumbs:

Tired but fine. I'll be working on a lime kiln at Georgia Pacific north of here. My 72 cuda race care is here, so I will go check on it. Katrina came over the 12' security fence and pushed the body into an oak tree. I have to buy 2 rear quarters anyway to stretch them for the 17x33 slicks. 12 hr days is all so I will be able to maybe get 2 hrs a day at my shop here. I also need to find time to go check my other house out in Denham springs I haven't slept there for 6 or 7 yrs now. It was my automotive shop when I lived down here.  I need to get some tools from there anyways. Since my children grew up and off to college, I don't like living around here anymore.

I super appreciate all the support everyone gave to me. I am slowing down some. The race track is 10 miles from me where I raced. (State Capital Drag Way) where the cajun nationals used to be. I really miss this particular track. Lots of memories....Like the first time I built my 72 cuda trying for a 10 sec pass. I staged, it hooked good and the wheels went up 2ft in the air, then when I shifted to second a wire smoked through the firewall and I went a 13.50 or something, with a 60 ft of 1.35. Fixed the wire and the very next pass, I went a 9.72.   My head was really big, because everyone said my home made combo would fly apart. Mind you no Nitrous and it was my street car. I drove it there and pulled the exhaust off, put the slicks on and did my running...yeah lots of memories. This was in the late 80's. I ran against a bunch of Ray Barton engines and always came out on top :2thumbs: With my back yard knowledge.

You- my friends have made me feel very welcome here and I wanna make sure that everyone knows I am a straight up type of guy. And am willing to help anyone on this board with anything I may have to offer.

I also have 5 acres of e bodies and parts down around Gonzales, hidden deep in the swamps along a bayou. I am hoping I can go over there and bring some stuff back to Alabama. But may not get time. I believe I have to travel up the Mississippi river to Clarksville Mo again to portland cement and finish up tuning their kiln there. So I will be busy.

I should not of turned my resignation in last october, they won't accept it and keep pileing the work on me. But they know I will retire in a few months or by summer and play around the house. My home is in this room. I bring my wife wherever I go.  Makes driving and flying better. And work is left on the job.

I did call my old friends at Mopar collectors guide and they are going to come in to the office this saturday and open up, so I can see the changes they have made to the place since I moved.

Before MCG  we were called The Mopar club.  And we had alot of fun for the 5 buck member fee. That's how MCG was started in the begining if anyone s interested. We used to have just a flyer. I'm just Alan to them now, but we are all friends from back in the day, so Randy may bring his guitar to the office and we might do some old songs.

But again,   thanks for the warm welcome and comments. And I really do try to keep all my promises. One member mailed me a check or something for some 340 emblems, and I haven't seen the money yet and I can't check the mail box. So if it's there, I will mail them out when I go home

I never voted on the top best sight post. I figured I was in it

Hey Moparal,
I'm new here, but you sound like a straight up honest kinda guy. And you've made it clear where your heart is. Don't sweat the little things. Sounds like ya just need to slow down a wee bit!! Umm, I forgot what else i was going to say as I'm on the north side of 40, looking at 50. LOL!!  You've got plenty of support here. Take it easy on yourself & give yourself a break!! Life's just too crazy sometimes!!

Another 50+ CRS guy checking in here. My wife is an R.N. and is always giving me these little tidbits of info from the medical world. She tells me that the short term memory problem is more related to having too many things on your mind than age. I asked her how come my short term memory is worse now than it was when I retired 4 years ago and she tells me it's because I've got more irons in the fire now than I ever did when I was working! She's probably right! Man, I hate it when she gets me like that! At any rate Alan, it appears you're in good company here. Seems there are quite a few of us 'old farts' hanging out on this board. I'm just glad to have you here with us! :2thumbs:

Hey Moparal, you're a gentleman for just thinking that you may forgotten to do this or that or to have the kind of consideration that you do.  It's well apreciated iin this day and age!

Al, take it easy, man.  You have twice the integrity as most of the people on the net.  Enjoy life.  Its like a coin, you only spend it once, thats it.  (Sorry for the silly analogy, it seemed to fit )

And have fun with those ebodies, thats what theyre there for.   :2thumbs:
