Hardware needed for fan, clutch and pulley
« on: January 19, 2007 - 10:30:27 AM »
Hey,

I just hooked up the battery and now have the ability to bump the starter to crank the engine vs. the manual way with a socket.  I can now button up the front end.  I need to know the correct hardware for 70 440 w/o AC, and PS.  The Bolt I have in the pic on the paper I believe is correct (slotted head, course thread)  Does this bolt that connects the fan clutch, pulley and water pump housing need a washer of some sort?  Also, I've seen a metal shim piece that goes between the pulley and fan clutch.  Is that needed?  Also, I've had this fan clutch around for a number of years, can it be tested to see if it is good?  If not, does mother mopar still offer them?  I know lots of questions, but I want to button up the front end this weekend.  Thanks  JOhn

as long as those bolts are long enough they will be fine , studs were often used as well , I would use a lock washer
no shim needed between the clutch & pul;ley
replacement clutches are available , usually if they ar enot leaking oil around the shaft they are good
