Are 70 Challenger roof rail weatherstipping the same as 71-74?
« on: January 17, 2007 - 02:55:42 PM »
Are the roof rail weatherstrips different from 70 to 72,73 & 74?

I  got some from soffseal and they were crapola.  They came apart where they were bonded together and barely touched the glass in several places.  The windows are adjusted correctly too.  I guess I thought that they were the best stuff out there.

So I'm wondering if they redesigned the later model ebody stuff to work better, they appear to have a different part #.....

Thanks

Well Ed at weatherstrip special (WS) answered this question for me.  Apparently the 70 is more curved and narrower at the end that screws to the body at the front of the door, whereas the 71-74 is wider and more square in shape.

WS even provided me with these great pic illustrating the difference.

Thanks Ed!

I'll definately not use Soffseal again.  The metro ones from WS look good, I'm sure I'll use them in the future.  Its hard to get service like that anywhere these days.
