there should be 6 #s , the dash , stamped on the top left of the cowl , the top left of the rad support , the fender tag , the block should be behind the right engine mount just above the oil pan & on the right side of the trans case , different locations depending if it is auto or 4 spd but on a flat pad

what numbers do i match that tag to on the motor to? The vin or the fender tag or what? Like what numbers need to line up or are they the same number?

The numbers on the motor will match the ending sequence of numbers of your VIN. The motor will also have the numbers for the date code on it. They are pretty much impossilble to see if your car has headers on it. At least that's the case for a big-block.

ok thanks. Lucky for me the car still has the original exhaust mainifolds.  It is a all original car.  91k miles and still has the granny hub caps ( lol )   .     It looks like a granny car. But it is a 1970 barracuda grand coupe.

Thanks Jason

Here are 5 of the 6 numbers on mine. (the engine stamping doesn't match as it's the 340 I'll be dropping in.)  Hopefully it'll help you with what you should be looking for on yours. :2thumbs:
