Cuda 383 Billboards
« on: January 29, 2007 - 01:41:29 PM »
Hi guys,

I just received the 383 Billboards for my 71 Cuda but the 383 lettering doesn't seem right to me.  Can someone post a picture of a close-up of the 383 portion so I can compare (preferably a original car).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Attached is a picture of what I received and also I picture I found on the internet....Am I nuts?
Thanks,
Ed

It seems a bit narrow, doesn't it?  :clueless:  I hope I'm wrong.

Doesn't look anywhere near right to me.  The font used is too round and not flat on the bottom at all.

Definitely wrong. Did they advertise as exact replicas? If so, you've got a perfectly valid reason to go to the BBB... as I am sure that the company will deny any and all wrongdoing with their "authentic reproductions".

Thanks guys,

I tend to agree that it is not right.  I called the company today to talk to him about it but I have yet to hear back.  On top of all of this the box arrived crushed like an accordian from end to end so they are pretty much toast. I will see what he has to say when I hear from him.

Gary, without naming names, you know who did these.

Their excuse could be that, when on the car, it stretches, but there is no way that the 8 goes from having no gap in the middle to having a massive one...

Whether the company takes care of it or not take it would be good to know who they are so someone looking for correct reproductions won`t have to go thru the same problem you did.

Torred,

I do agree but I want to see if he will make this right before I say anything bad. I have to give him the opportunity to respond.  I will say that I would tend to stay with the more established stripe vendors like Phoenix Graphics from now on.

The real kick in the butt is that I am a sign shop and I could have done these myself if I had the file. His 440 and Hemi ones looked good but they are mostly straight lines but the 383 is a little more involved. I should have asked for a picture first...my bad.

Ahhh...another chapter in the continuing saga of the Total BS Cuda...lol
