Pics of my 2007 project
« on: January 11, 2007 - 07:13:43 AM »
Here are some pics of my 2007 project.  This is a project that my wife wants to help with.  I plan to order a 383 stroker kit from 440 source next month.  The heads have been ported and the block has been cleaned and checked.  With this done, I need to start on the body.  I know I need to strip the car of the black paint.  Can this be done in my garage?  Also, need a starting point for the body work.  Need your advice.  Remember that my wife wants to get her hands dirty on this project.  Will post more pics if needed.

Thanks for you help,

You can strip the paint inside, gets messy though, stripper & lots of drop cloths will keep the dust down. if you go mechanical I found the eastwood wheels work great, try & get you a link below, but the dust will be everywhere. I'm sure there's other ways(blasting?) again dust abounds!  Rich.

My wife helped a lot on my projects. She did most of the sand blasting of small parts in the blast cabinet. She would write down what the  bolts came off of and  put them in a zip lock bag or box.  She even helped sand some places on the car.

Thanks all for your encouragement.  I will post pics as we go along.

Cl.....I don't think that we will be getting rid of the car.  I've owned it for 14 yrs.

Rusty......I will try the stripper first.  I have booked marked the website that you sent.

Reflections......I will show the pics to my wife.  If you can send more to encourage my wife.

Thanks all,

Ragtop

Here are some more pics, thanks to my wife.  She was upset that I took pics of a car that was dusty and had parts sitting inside.  So she cleaned it out and labled everything.
