Fender Tag Codes vs. Window Sticker
« on: January 20, 2007 - 09:08:42 PM »
In reviewing my Fender Tag codes and Original Window Sticker, I noticed that there are some codes that are listed on each that are not on the other.   For example, the Window Sticker includes: F23 (375 amp battery), D91 (Sure Grip), S77 (Power Steering), W23 (road wheels) and T86 (F70x14 Tires) that are not on either of the Fender Tags.   Then, the Fender Tags include a number of things that are not listed separately on the Window Sticker such as M21 (drip rail mouldings), M26 (Wheel lip mouldings), N42 (chrome exhaust tips), N76 (coolant recovery), N86 (Tach)....

Perhaps these aren't listed on the Window Sticker since they are part of a package -- but I'm a bit surprised about some of those on the Sticker that are not on the Fender tags (sure grip, power steering)....

Anybody have the answer?

Thanks

The fender tags typically show items that required body details as the car was built, paint color, interior color, moldings requiring holes in the body, etc.

The window sticker typically shows pricing.

Things like power steering and the sure grip did not reguire any body modifications, so they are not listed on the tags. They had to charge for them though, so they are on the window sticker.
