It's good that no one was hurt!  As for the loss, man thats rough, I feel terrible for the man.  I hope he's able to start putting things back together soon and the insurance company does him right.  I know it won't be easy to put all that back together, I hope all the best for him and that the car owner's too.  I'll sure pray for the best results so he will be able to get his shop back up and running soon as possable.

That's sad indeed to hear. All the best to him, and glad to hear that no-one was hurt.

Like everyone else said, I am glad that no one was hurt.  I hate to hear about anything getting burned, but that really sucks.  I wish him the best.

The shop I was working at in High School burnt down one night and I remember the cleanup. My boss was heartbroken and lucky enough he only had one car in shop but it was crispy. He didn't believe in insurance and had to eat the total cost of business and customer's car. He rebuilt but it was never the same. Give my reguards to your friend and remind him belongings can be replaced but his life can't. My prayers are with him and his family.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and kind words. I talked with him yesterday, bassically the insurance people will do nothing until a cause has been determined, the state fire marshall was supposed to be there yesterday ... ? It is a total loss, being a body shop everything in it aside from tools was a continuious igniter. Gas from the vehicles inside, paint, thiners, actilene, propane, and atop all that he is an advid drag racer (fortunately his car was inside his trailer away from the building) and he had about a 100 gal of racing fuel stored back in one corner. He is already (yesterday) insulating and upgrading the wireing on another small garage on his property, he said to just line him up with some work, he'd be ready in a few weeks. His biggest draw back right now is not the ability and place to do the body work but the paint booth. We shared a couple tears, a laugh, and went to work. He's a hell of a guy and a friend. Thanks again everyone.
