Oh great!        Another way for em to gouge us poor consumers again.     You can bet that if they do away with pennies and "rebase" everything to 5 cents, we will get screwed.  Example:  If an item used to be $2.01, it will not drop back to $2.00, it will surely go straight to $2.05.  It all adds up against us again.       We can't win......

Oh NO!!!

 I am so behind the curve.  At the cafeteria at work, or the grocery store, or anyplace, I always cough up the pennies just to get rid of them. If something costs $4.08, I hand them a 5 spot and 8 pennies.

Damn straight it is... thats a '43 copper penny - very few made at the beginning of the year, later replaced by steel. The copper was needed for the war effort, so '43 was the year of the steel penny!
