Can you buy headliner material just for sail panels?
« on: January 28, 2007 - 08:39:37 PM »
If you can, where is the best place to buy it? I already have the headliner, but I need it for the panels between the windows too.  Thanks!

I think you can buy the sails already covered... I know legendary had them for my 70 runner.  So I'd think they have e-bodies too.  Now that expensive and I've did my own before also, just wont look as good as the ones you buy.

You can get the material from Legendary but I agree with SilverChally, You would probably be better off buying the panels already done from them I've tried both ways, and gluing your own material on the panels is a real PITA! One problem I ran into was finding a glue that would hold in the heat, these cars get real hot inside when setting with the windows closed during the summer and the glue would soften and let the material come loose. If you do decide to do it yourself, the only glue I found that will hold is 3M Super Trim Adhesive in the spray can. Make sure it is the SUPER, as there is a regular trim adhesive, and it won't hold.

Thanks guys, I will definitely buy the pre-fab ones.  Anything to make this process more efficient!

Dante's off Moparts.com sells e body sail panels. He has a web site. He takes pay pal, takes your order over the phone, and ships them usually the same day. Very good and trusted person. He got a sale going on right now for seat covers, carpet, door panels..you name it. He's a dealer for them. They are not expensive, but the clip in the center is a problem with them all. I used super glue on mine for extra assurance. I think they're like under 30 bucks for the pair.  The board is not as thick as originals. Legendary puts them out.
